My observation about Facebook (96540344 Ann)
Nowadays, everybody is crazy about Facebook. If you spend some time observing others, you’ll find that everyone is Facebook-ing. Asking them why, you’ll get hundreds of different answers: “its’ fun.”, “it’s cool.”, “the games are interesting.”…etc. You may not know how crazy people are toward Facebook; but one thing you can make sure is that Facebook is such a popular trend that no one can resist.
Why is Facebook such a hit? I classify it into two categories. The followings are my own personal views:
(1)Interaction: As every player knows, there are so many kinds of interesting games in Facebook, e.g. happy farm, restaurant, and so many mental tests. Why those games are attracting to people and some of them are even addicted to them? Because not only can players play games themselves but share and interact with others. Do you notice the word “interact”? Let’s the point why Facebook can be so successful. It provides an open porch for the public. People are free to talk, communicate, and even make new friends on line. By chatting and playing games, people get closer; most of all, it provides people who are shy in reality chances to show themselves in virtual world. I believe that games are not just games when players are provided with chances to interact with others; it becomes more like a team and cooperation. You know that you’re not alone and belong to a group whom are the same as you. Furthermore, interaction makes games more exciting. Take happy farm as an example, players can steal others’ products. You won’t feel excited stealing your own stuffs, but you will when stealing others. Though it may be illegal, it’s still another kinds of interaction. And one thing is for sure is that Interaction always makes people involved.
(2)Convenience: It’s amazing to find a long-lost friend on Facebook, isn’t it? By connecting one friend to another, you’ll usually connect to your old memories, e.g. your best friends in childhood, or even the one you fell in love secretly long long time ago. Facebook builds a convenient communication net for the public. You don’t really have to spend time finding nor telephoning others that you miss, just “click” your mouse, check the recent information posted on your friends’ websites, and even send a short message will your friends notice that. As far as I am concerned, I love this way. For I am shy to meet a long-lost friend directly; but through Facebook, it’s easy for me to deliver my care and miss. People nowadays are busy working; through Facebook, it will save both of people’s time and their friendships.
Facebook has its pros and cons. Though it’s convenient and provides an open porch as I mentioned in the previous paragraphs, it bring dangers likewise. We should be careful using it. While enjoying the benefits that Facebook brings to us, don’t forget to keep our own privacy, too. “Extreme pleasure is followed by sorrow.” Don’t expose ourselves into dangers without noticing. It’s our duty to protect ourselves from being hurt especially in virtual world.
