My observation on Facebook

There is an epidemic phenomenon exclusively these two years that we see people login Facebook, the soaring popular social-networking website, and play games or whatever function this website provides in workplace or in any places that have access to it. Nowadays, it is a must that you have your own Facebook account or you may be regarded as obsolete or even weird. And yet, how does this website has such influential impact on people? For what reasons that people were thoroughly conquered by this website and cannot live without it? My reasoning is as follows.
This website, on the one hand, includes all the functions people living in the twenty-first century demand—receiving entertainment, communication and photo storage space. Facebook includes a variety of short quizzes and intriguing games like Happy Farm, Animal Paradise, Happy Aquarium, etc., which furnishes the amusement as well as the relief from the stress. Also, on this particular website, users are capable of chatting or leaving messages to their friends around the globe. One special feature of the application is that you can search friends all over the world, no matter disconnected friends you met long time ago or just seconds before as long as you have got their names, you are able to reunite or regain your relationship simply through clicking a few buttons. You may even receive suggested mutual friends through the linkage among the network.
For me, just like its slogan indicates that “Facebook helps you connect and share with the people in your life,” this website is like a condensed electronic global village. In here, people connect to individuals around the world or interact with friends through games and other applications. People, in other words, get in touch with their friends, families, classmates, colleges, or any fellow associate within their own customized community. Why would anyone ever deny such conveniently designed services that simply require a few efforts? In addiction, the website renders the function of uploading unlimited photos, which is another reason for the dramatic proliferation. The present people have the craze to record everything happens in their lives through taking photos, and Facebook coincidently provide an off-the-rack platform for them to rest. Not only can users enjoy this handy function, they can also add tags and put comments on their friends' photos.
Within this abridged community, on the other hand, the sense of give and take—the reciprocal—is triggered. When you give something to your friend, you may be further given another one in return. To take the calendar application for an example, you can add your friends’ birthday to your calendar and vise versa or when you are given gift, the website will automatically suggest that you present a gift in return. The most convincing facts for the proliferation of Facebook lies in the fact that those functions mentioned above are all on a user-friendly basis that people won’t be bothered when operating. For this reason, Facebook can maintain those who have subscribed as well as draw those who have not subscribed that have been pitched by those subscribers.
With its fruitful enticing functions, Facebook successfully captivates the public. And in response to the dramatic proliferation of the Facebook phenomenon, chances are that the Facebook will begin to charge fees for users in the years to come. And some powerful Internet service provider like Yahoo will possibly acquire it like it does to other mushrooming website on the Internet .
