My observations on face book by Bahyan 96540352

To be honest, I did not have face book account until our Popular Culture teacher asked us to open one. The reason why I did not have one was because I do not like websites which publish personal information of their every member from the entire world; to make a long story short, because I did not want to jump in to a swimming pool without knowing its depth.

Face book has already become a poplar culture among interment users around the world, and I think that is why our Popular Culture teacher asked us to have one.

Soon after I opened a face book account, many of my friends and I quickly connected to each other, including some of my great old friends with whom I did not have much contacts for years. It was a big surprise for us to find each other on face book, and we all think it is so great to have such a chance to reconnect, and to know each other’s news. We even exchanged our msn addresses and phone numbers; now almost every day we talk to each other.

Face book provides many functions such as: connecting with friends, posting blogs and comments, playing games, answering quizzes, sending and receiving electronic gifts… etc. Through all these functions, I, as a user, could unite with my friends and know their feelings by reading their wall pages, or by reading their comments on my wall page. I received many electronic gifts from my friends, and I sent them many as well, this is a way for expressing love and admiration for each other. I also played face book’s games alone or with friends to have some amusement. Just for fun, I took some quizzes, in which most of the times I do not believe.

As most of my classmates mentioned, almost everything has its advantages and disadvantages, and face book is not excluded. Therefore, for avoiding face book’s disadvantages, every time before logging in to face book, I remind myself of at least these three principals: first, do not make friends with someone until you are sure about the safety of doing so. Second, know what you want to share and what you do not want to share with others. Last but not least, try not to be addicted to face book by overusing it.
